Northern Arizona junior Taryn O'Neill won the women's 5-kilometer race Saturday in 16:59.9 at the Big Sky Conference Cross Country Championships at Schneiter's Riverside Golf Course in Ogden, Utah. O'Neill led five scorers in the top eight and a sixth athlete in 11th place to lead Northern Arizona to a 27-point effort and a fourth conference championship in five years. O'Neill improved from sixth place at the 2019 conference final, becoming the first women's individual winner for the Lumberjacks since Paige Gilchrist in 2017.
